Mike has 25 years of business and technical experience in professional services, business development,
product management, and sales in the computer software industry. His experience includes new product
planning and development, strategic and tactical marketing, and competitive market positioning. Mike has
extensive experience in the process automation and collaborative technology markets.
Mike is a co-founder and partner of The Last Mile Group where he is responsible for marketing and
business development. He is a thought leader in applying Web 2.0 technologies to process automation
and building online business communities. He was instrumental in developing and launching the firm’s
CommunityXPerts practice in this area.
Prior to The Last Mile Group, Mike was with JetForm Corporation, a market leader in electronic forms and
workflow automation software. Mike held the position of Vice President of Professional Services and
managed the Enterprise Consultant and Business Analysis team. This group provided pre- and post-
sales consulting including system architecture and design consulting in the automation of business
processes with JetForm customers. Mike worked with customers including MacDonald’s (Europe),
Tosco, and GMAC. He was also engaged in identifying potential alliance partners for JetForm and
managed the alliance relationships with Microsoft and Novell.
Prior to JetForm, Mike was a co-founder of Workflow Partners, which specialized in business process
automation. WorkFlow Partners provided professional services to clients engaged in the design,
development, and implementation of custom workflow applications. Mike was responsible for the
technology and market strategy of the firm, as well as sales and account management. He was also
engaged in developing partner relationships with selected software vendors offering workflow automation
platforms. WorkFlow Partners was acquired by JetForm Corp. in 1998 to enhance their professional
services in process automation.
Mike is recognized as an industry expert in business process automation and collaborative technology.
He has been a speaker at industry conferences and trade shows, as well as teaching a graduate seminar
titled “Using Computers in Marketing” in the MBA curriculum at San Francisco State University.
